SIRLIM: St Anthony, Marna-Siolim defeated Arlem Youth Association 2-1 to move into the quarter-finals of the 23rd All-Goa Our Lady of Merces 8-a-side Inter-Village Tournament 2022 and played at Our Lady of Hope Church ground, Chinchinim.
Mayuresh Naik missed a sitter in the very 5th minute but in the 10th minute he put his team Marna-Siolim in the lead. Dalesh Pednekar of made it 2-0 in the 19th minute. Arlem Youth’s Sweden Barbosa shot was brilliantly saved by Siolim keeper Vipul Pednekar. At half time the score read 2-0.
In the second half, Arlem Youth Association’s Preston Rego clearance was misjudged by Siolim keeper to make it 2-1. Arlem started pressing the Siolim defence but keeper Vipul and defender Lavnay were hard to break.
Joswel Cardozo was shown the yellow card for rough play.
