BENAULIM: St Anthony SC Colva defeated Parish Youth Nuvem 4-2 via the tie-breaker to enter the final of the St Sebastian Union Club Benaulim Cup, played at St John the Baptist ground, Benaulim, on Sunday.
St Anthony SC Colva had the first chance of the match in the 5th minute when
Keith Rodrigues had just the keeper at his mercy but the striker shot wide.
Jerose Oliveira of Nuvem took control of the ball from Inacio Colaco, but his move was tackled by Maxon Fernandes of Colva.
Both the teams failed to break the deadlock in the regulation time.
In the resultant tiebreaker, St Anthony SC Colva netted through Ronnie Fernandes, Maxon Fernandes, Jerry Fernandes and Baptist Fernandes while for Parish Youth Nuvem only Standly D’Mello and Jerose Oliveira managed to convert.
St Anthony SC Colva will meet the winners of Margao SC and CAC Cansaulim in the final on July 16.
