Teams’ officials inspect Nehru Stadium

FATORDA: The technical teams of the Group C countries of the FIFA U-17 World Cup inspected the Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Fatorda on Sunday.

FATORDA: The technical teams of the Group C countries of the FIFA U-17 World Cup inspected the Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Fatorda on Sunday.
With Germany, Iran, Costa Rica, and Guinea slated to play at the Nehru Stadium, the delegates from each nation – barring Iran –paid visit at the Nehru Stadium and training facilities at Utorda and Benaulim on Sunday.
The delegates namely Maika Fischer and Markus Scheenweis of Germany, Breansse Camacho and Christian Salas of Chile and Fah Conde and Souleymane Camara of Guinea made their short visit at the venue in the presence of Sports Authority of Goa officials and members of the FIFA’s Local Organising Committee.  
However, the Iran contingent is familiar with the conditions in Goa thanks to their AFC U-16 Championship campaign which was held in September 2016.
The technical team made a thorough inspection of the facilities before the squads fly down for the tournament. 
Preparations are fully underway at the Nehru Stadium as Goa prepares to host FIFA U-17 World Cup matches after playing hosts to the AFC U-16 Championship.
