RAIA: St Anthony’s Football Club, Assolda, dominated St Cruz Sports Club of Pointamaddo, Cuncolim, with a convincing 2-0 victory, in the Fr Agnelo Youth Soccer tournament, organised by Fr Agnelo Youth Sports Club, Paroda.
The match, played at Panchayat grounds, Avedem, was a thrilling display of soccer, with both teams creating numerous scoring opportunities. However, it was Vitorino Fernandes who broke the deadlock in the 23rd minute of the first half, capitalising on a melee near the goal post.
In the second half, Sunny Fernandes doubled the lead for Assolda, securing a 2-0 advantage and cementing their place in the quarterfinals.
