RAIA: Hosts St Anthony Sports Club, Assolda defeated Guirdolim Club 5-4 via the tie-breaker in the finals of 15th Anthony Festival Cup football tournament organised by St Anthony Sports Club of Assolda at Moll ground, Assolda, Sunday.
Moises De Sa put Guirdolim ahead with a powerful 30-yard shot in the 45th minute. Assolda levelled the score in the 50th minute through Alton Vaz.

ln the tie-breaker, Assolda proved to be better shooters.
St Anthony, Assolda claimed Rs 60,000 while Guirdolim had to be content with Rs 40,000.
Following individual prizes were awarded: First scorer of final Moises Desa of Guirdolim. Best defender of final Alton Vaz of Assolda. Best goalkeeper of final Allyn Faria of Assolda. Best half of final Joaquim Carvalho of Guirdolim. Man-of-the match of final Moises De Sa of Guirdolim. Oldest player of the tournament Baptist D’Mello of CAC Cansaulim.
Caitan Fernandes, GFA president was the chief guest and gave away the prizes in the presence of guest of honour Siddharth Gauns Dessai Zilla member of Xeldem, special invitees Fr Peter Souza, assistant parish priest of Paroda, Petwin Fizardo.
President of Assolda Club and Sarpanch of Assolda, Custodio Fernandes welcomed. Francisco Fernandes proposed the vote of thanks.
