St Anthony’s SC humble Sinquerim; Carmel SC win

MAPUSA: St Anthony’s SC Marna scored a resounding 6-0 win over Sinquerim SC in the third round match of the GFA’s 2nd Division League, at Duler Stadium here on Thursday.
After a couple of failed scoring opportunities Marna shot into the lead in the 42nd minute when Mayuresh Naik sent a defence splitting pass to Pushpuraj who beat the keeper with a placing strike, 1-0.
A minute before the halftime whistle Sherwin Lobo sent a long floater to Mayuresh whose shot from the 6-yard box beat the Sinquerim keeper, 2-0. The Marna outfit were all over their rival citadel and finished off the first half with a 2-0 lead.
Hardly had the second half kicked off and Marna got back into the scoring act when Vipul guided in Pushparaj’s pass, 3-0.
There was no stopping the Marna side who went on to score three more goals through Mayuresh Naik in the 85th, 91st and 92nd minutes to finish off the match 6-0.
Meanwhile, Mandopa Sporting Club registered an impressive 5-2 win over United Club of Telaulim at Artificial Turf ground, Fatorda, on Thursday.
Clemax Pereira and Travis Souza stood out for Mandopa as the duo scored a brace each. Preston Costa was the other goal getter for the winning side. Jason Costa and Mohammed Mansoori were on the score sheet for the losing side. 
Meanwhile in another match at Dramapur ground, Carmel Sports Club made the light work of SWC Zaino 4-1.
Leronsius Carvalho scored a brace for the winning side with Mack Borges and Clinton Da Costa also adding their names on the score sheet for Carmel SC. Lawren Fernandes pulled a goal back for SWC Zaino.
