MARGAO: The Fatorda Scheduled Tribes Association has filed a complaint against ‘We for Fatorda’ Management Committee of Murida-Fatorda for negligence afer a footballer Alister Vaz died. The Association has demanded that the ground be sealed.
The Fatorda Scheduled Tribes Association alleged that on January 24, a footballer named Alister Vaz aged 29 years and resident of Agalli – Fatorda died while playing football at We for Fatorda ground.
“We are shocked that our young boy Alister Vaz died while playing a football tournament on ‘We For Fatorda’ ground. We strongly condemn the incident that happened on the ground which is due to negligence on part of the We for Fatorda Management Committee,” said the association’s president Camilo Baretto.
The Association alleged that the organisation has illegally allowed organising the tournament on the ground.
“We have no complaint against the organiser of the football tournament but only against the Management Committee of We For Fatorda who should be taken to task,” Camilo further added.
