MAPUSA: St. Joseph’s Boys Home, Calangute (boys) and El-Shaddai Charitable Trust, Assagao (girls) emerged as winners at the 6th Inter Lions Sports Meet for underprivileged children championship, organised by Lions Club of Candolim in collaboration with Lions Club of Assagao, Anjuna, Arpora-Nagoa-Parra, Aldona, Calangute, Chodan, Mapuca, Mapuca Sub-Urban, Thivim, at St. Joseph’s Boys Home Calangute, recently.
A total of 200 students from Institute of Provedoria-Candolim, Sisters of Adorers-Thivim, Mother Thereza Roses-Parra, El-Shaddai Charitable Trust-Assagao, St. Joseph’s Boys Home-Calangute, Auxilium Convent Girls Home-Aldona and Moving School-Arpora participated in the sports meet.
Emir Brito-State Athletic Champion was the chief guest and gave away the prizes in the presence of MJF Lion Monika Sawant-District Governor, Deliaha Lobo, Sarpanch VP Parra, Bro. Apolli, Director of St. Joseph’s Boys Home. MJF Ln. Merwyn Fernandes-RC, Ln. Alex Saldanha-ZC, Ln. Raphael D’Sa-ZC, Ln. Dr. Malini Sangal-Organizing Chairperson, Ln. Anthony Fernandes-Organizing Secretary and ten club Presidents along with Lion members were also present.
Individual trophies plus medals and certificates were given to the winners.
