St Pius, Marina advance

Bethany Convent, Sao Jose de Areal, St Anthony’s High School, Majorda, St Pius High School, Orlim, Marina English High School Verna and Mae dos Pobres High School, Nuvem  advance into the second round of Salcete Taluka under-17 inter-school football tournament at Government ground, Manora, Raia on Friday.
Bethany Convent thumped Assumpta Convent, Sarzora  6-0. The highlight of he day was a brilliant hat-trick by Raymond Fernandes  while Monty Valadares, Milton and Allister Mascarenhas scored a goal each.
St Anthony trounced Vidya Vikas Academy 4-0. Quan Gomes, Clyde  Fernandes, Nelton Miranda and Claudio Fernandes were the goal getters.
St Pius defeated Our Lady of Snows, Raia 2-0. Thomas D’Costa and Clinton Coutinho scored.
Marina overcame Rosary High School, Navelim 1-0. Stan Braganza struck the match-winner.
Mae dos Pobres swamped St Rita’s, Mania, Curtorim 3-0.
