PANJIM: St Rita High School, Colvale registered a comfortable 136 run victory over Our Lady of Merces High School, Merces in the Germania inter-school cricket tournament match, organised by Panjim Gymkhana, Campal, here, on Wednesday.
St Rita won the toss and elected to bat, posting 173/5 in 20 overs. Piyush Yadav was outstanding with a 70 run knock while he was well supported by Yatish Naik’s 41.
Avinash Singh 2/36, Barvesh Pilarnekar 2/38 and Nitin Madar 1/17 tried hard for OL of Merces.
In reply, OL of Merces were bowled out for 37 in 13.1 overs. Sairaj Parab did much of the damage as he clinched four wickets, giving away only five runs. Sumit Pal 11/2, Vithal Gawas 12/1 and Yatish Naik 1/1 also did well.
