CHINCHINIM: St Rock Youth Club Majorda defeated Don Bosco Oratory Fatorda 4-2 to move into the quarter-finals of the 21st Our lady of Merces football tournament, organised by Sirlim Sports Club and played at Our lady of Hope Chinchinim church ground on Thursday.
Charles Miranda opened the account for Don Bosco in the 13th minute before Edgar Noronha doubled the lead. In the 53rd minute, Ricky Martin netted a goal for St Rock before completing his brace in the 56th minute. The goal brought the teams on level terms.
The goals gave morale boost to the Majorda side as they scored two quick goals through Mathew Colaco and Marlon Fernandes in the 61st and 69th minutes respectively.
