SIRLIM: St Rock Youth Club, Calata-Majorda got the better of St Anthony’s SC, Marna-Siolim 7-6 via the tie-breaker to move into the quarter-finals of the 22nd Our Lady of Merces 8-a-side football tournament, organised by Sirlim Sports Club at Our Lady of Hope Church ground, Chinchinim, on Thursday.
Pushparaj Madrekar scored a brace and Sahil netted the third for St Anthony’s SC. St Rock scored through Kevin Almeida’s double and a Naveen Mendes strike. The teams were tied 3-3 at the end of regulation time. St Rock YC proved to be better shooters in the penalty shootout.
St Rock YC will meet Don Bosco Oratory Fatorda in the quarter-finals on August 4.
