CUELIM-ARROSIM-CANSAULIM: St Rock Youth Club, Calata-Majorda edged past Varca SC 3-2 to enter the quarter-finals of the Three Kings trophy inter-village football tournament, organised by CAC Cansaulim, at Dr TB Cunha Complex, Cansaulim, on Monday.
In the second minute itself, Varca’s Dylan Lima took a snap shot to open the account.
Flesbon Ferrao should have found the ball at the back of the Varca net but Varca keeper Romeo Pereira palmed the ball away to safety in the sixth minute.
In the second half Lester Vaz of St.Rock took a diving header of a corner kick which crushed into Varca net to equalise in the 55th minute.
Dylan Lima of Varca made it 2-1 in the 61st minute but the joy was short lived as Fene Fernandes made it 2-2 for Majorda in the 70th minute. Finally with just a minute left for the final whistle Elton Baptista scored the match winner for Majorda.
