MAPUSA: St. Savio’s Sports Club edged past PVC Parra 4-3 to move ahead in the quarter-finals of the 14th Reira Trophy inter-village soccer tournament, organised by Saligao Sporting Club, at Saligao Sporting ground, on Wednesday.
In an absorbing encounter both the sides played fast game, keeping the goalkeepers busy on their toes.
Both the sides tried their best to find the match-winner but their respective strikers fumbled with the chances that were created by their teammates.
As neither side failed to score in the regulation time, tie breaker was enforced and the Calangute side emerged better shooters.
