SALIGAO: St. Savio’s Sports Club Calangute edged past Dunes Sports Club, Mandrem by a 2-1 margin to move into the quarter-finals of the 14th Reira Soccer Trophy, organised by Saligao Sporting club, at Saligao grounds, on Thursday.
St. Savio’s scored a goal in each session of play. In the 12th minute, Alister Lobo found the back of the net from outside the penalty box to open the scores.
However, Dunes got the equaliser in the 28th minute from a neat placement by Alson Lobo.
On resumption of play, St. Savio’s once again took the lead from the boots of Alister Lobo who scored from inside the 18-yard box with a stiff grounder.
