MARGAO: A double hat-trick by striker Cajetan Dias helped St Sebastian Sports Club, Aquem demolish Enfermos Sports Club, Sinquetim 12-0 in Group C of Salcete Zone GFA Third Division football league, at Rosary ground, Navelim, Wednesday. They led 6-0 at the breather.
Selgan Noronha was the other hero of the day as he struck four goals.
Cajetan opened the flood gates in the 17th minute and then doubled the lead in the 20th minute while Slegan added his name on the scorer list in the 31st minute.
Cajetan secured his hat-trick, four minutes later while Sanford Rodrigues joined the party in the 39th minute. Before the break, Selgan registered his brace.
The second half did not bring any respite to the sagging morale of Enfermos SC as their opponents attacked from the flanks. Cajetan continued his good show in the 52nd minute. A minute later, Selgan registered his hat-trick.
In the 56th minute, Slegan pumped another goal. There was no stopping Cajetan, who piled on more misery on their rivals in the 75th and 79th minutes to register his double hat-trick. Sanford drove the last nail into rival coffin in the 83rd minute to complete his brace.
In Group D match, at DYSA ground, Curtorim, Maina Sports Club thrashed Dicarpale Sports Club 7-1 after leading 5-1 at the lemon break. Maina dominated the game and pushed their opponents on the back-foot. Casmiro Fernandes (2), Xamba Kuttikar (2), Vellito Miranda, Edwin Sequeira and Rosario Hilario were the scorers for the winners while Abhay Shetty scored a consolation.
In Group E match, at Nagoa ground, Parish Youth, Nuvem blanked Cristo Rei Youth Club, Benaulim 4-1. United Club of Benaulim hammered United Boys of Dando-Colva 6-0, in a Group G match, at Holy Trinity ground, Benaulim.
Striker Sunny Rodrigues put is team in front in the 36th minute while Wesley Afonso increased the lead in the 41st minute.
The second session continued in same vein as Benaulim enjoying total domination. Sunny tore the rival defence and unleashed a volley in the 60th minute to register his brace and then completed his hat-trick in the 76th minute. Flyod Fernandes struck for in the 78th and 88th minute to register his brace.
In Group F match, at Camurlim ground, Shiroda Youth Club made short work of Youth Club of Manora 7-0. The high light of the day was splendid brace Celestern Alemao. In Group A match, at Paroda ground, Guirdolim Club blanked Chandor Club 4-2. The high light of the day was a splendid brace by Elroy Fernandes.
