VERNA: Stars de South Goa prevailed over Stars of North Goa 4-3 via the tie-breaker in the All Stars Veterans football exhibition match, at Nagoa ground, Verna, recently.
South Goa’s Alvito D’Cunha unleashed a powerful shot which beat North Goa goalkeeper Trevor Paival to give South Goa the lead.
In the second half, North Goa came with renewed vigour brought on Uday Naik who replaced Brahmanand while Krishna Shirodkar came in place for Derryl D’Souza which changed the complexion of the game.
Bruno Coutinho equalised for North Goa with when his powerful attempt found the net.
The match ended in a 1-1 draw
In the resultant tie-breaker, South Goa proved to be the better shooters.
