PANJIM: Sunny defeated Geno by four wickets to clinch the top spot in Bandodkar League cricket tournament organized by Panjim Gymkhana at Bandodkar ground, Campal, here.
Geno won the toss and elected to bat. They were restricted to 184/9 in 45 overs. by the disciplined bowling attack of Sunny.
In reply, Sunny easily managed to overhaul the required target, scoring 189 in just 35.2 overs for the loss of just six wickets thus clinching the coveted trophy.
Individual prizes — Best batsman: Bharat. Best bowler: Suffiyan Alam. Man-of-the-match: Siddesh Lad. Man-of-the-series: Reagan Pinto.
Sunny got Rs 50,000 and a trophy while Geno took home Rs 25,000 and a trophy.
Dr Shekhar Salkar, vice-president of Goa Cricket Association, Porvorim was the chief guest. He gave away the prizes in the presence of Gaurish Dhond, vice-president of Panjim Gymkhana, Prashant Kakode members of Panjim Gymkhana.
Sanjay Kanekar vice-president of Goa Cricket Association was also present.
