CORTALIM: Admitting that his RTI petition had been restricted to Mormugao taluka, RTI activist Savio Correia fears that there could be gross negligence in other parts of the State as well.
“Though the information sought was specific to Mormugao taluka, it gave a fair indication of the non-compliance of Ground Water Rules in the rest of the State as well. Such failure to comply with legal requirements could have serious consequences on public health and hygiene,” said Correia.
