VAGATOR: ABC Sports Club Arambol defeated Calangute Association 4-1 to move into the quarterfinals of the 22nd Vagator Soccer 2022 organised by Vagator Parish Youth Sports Club at Vagator Parish Youth Sports Club Ground, Ozran, on Friday.
Calangute Association scored the opening goal in the 9th minute from a decent cross by Namresh Kundikar from the right flank while Sanjay Vengurlekar netted for them with a swift movement into the box and a cool, calm finish.
Both teams had created plenty of chances but couldn’t capitalise on the same.
After crossing ends, Cyprian Rodrigues scored the equaliser for ABC Sports Club Arambol from a cross by Stepelton Fernandes just after the kick off of the second half. Arambol took the lead when Sylvester Dias scored from a cross by Anant Gad in the 37th minute. In the 58th minute Sylvester netted his second of the evening from a through ball by Stepelton. Sylvester with his tank full till the last minute completed his hat-trick in the 70th minute of the match.
Sylvester Dias was declared man-of-the-match and Alex Fernandes gave away the prize.
