MARGAO: A four goal blitz by striker Daulat Dessai helped United Club of Telaulim (UCT) to thrash Quelossim Sports Club, 7-0 in the South Zone GFA’s Second Division League Play-Off at SAG ground, Assolna on Thursday.
United Club of Telaulim led 4-0 at half time.
In a one sided affair, Telaulim virtually toyed with the weak rival defence and tormented the them with constant raids. Telaulim broke the deadlock in the 1st minute when Sandy Colaco slotted past the rival goalkeeper with snap shot. Spurred by the early lead, Telaulim intensified their forays and pushed their hapless opponents onto the back foot.
Daulat Dessai doubled the lead in the 8th minute when he punished the keeper with deft placement off a well measured pass from Allister Gomes.
Daulat Dessai who was in the thick of the action struck for a second time in the 35th minute when he bulged the net off a pass from Rovel Gomes. A minute later Alvito Colaco put the issue beyond doubt when he beat the keeper hands down.
Crossing over, Tealulim continued to enjoy the lion’s share of exchanges and in the 56th minute Sandy Colaco increased the tally with a stiff grounder to complete his brace.
At the other end, Quelossim was struggling through out the match and surrendered their challenge meekly without any resistance. Daulat Dessai bulldozed the rival defence to register his hattrick in the 78th minute.
Tealulim goalkeeper Sachin Ashtekar had a fieled day as he wasn’t tested at all by the rival attackers. Daulat Dessai drove the last nail into rival coffin late in the second half to complete the rout.
