VASCO: Down by a goal in the first half, United Club of Telaulim staged a splendid comeback in the second half, scoring a 3-1 victory over Sai Avtar, Anjuna to enter the quarter-finals of 40th HQ-NRB Bandodkar memorial all-Goa inter-village football tournament at MPT ground, Baina, here, Tuesday.
Sappru Divkar scored off an intelligent pass from Sunil Govekar as Sai Avtar drew first blood as early as the 15th minute.
But the Telaulim lads came back strongly in the second half with man-of-the-match Avito Colaco harassing the Sai Avtar defence with his delightful runs. He netted the equalizer in the seventh minute of the second half and added another towards the end.
Alister Gomes scored the goal of the day for Telaulim, after dribbling past a host of defenders before rounding the goalkeeper and scoring in the 39th minute.
