MARGAO: A fine brace each from Jonston Ribeiro and Tunard Fernandes helped ten-man Secreamvaddo Sports Club crush Santa Cruz Club of Tolleaband 7-1 to enter the semi-finals of Chinchinim Villagers Trophy football tournament at church ground, Chinchinim, Thursday. Secreamvaddo led 3-0 at the break.
Secreamvaddo took the lead after striker Jonston picked up the ball from his own half and unleashed a stiff grounder. They inflated their lead when Tunard Fernandes punished the rival goalkeeper with a deft placement. Austin Fernandes made it 3-0.
After the break, Secreamvaddo’s Jonston made it 4-0 and Jollan Pereira scored the fifth and Tunard scored again.
Mario Rodrigues put the issue beyond doubt when he blasted home from close range.
Mario was red carded for handling the ball by referee Augostino Cardozo.
In the dying minutes, Santa Cruz managed to pull one back through Sirom Ozario.
