MAPUSA: Tuff Laxmi Prasad Sports Club edged past Calangute Association 1-0 in a round six fixture of the Goa Pro League, at Duler Stadium, here, on Thursday.
U-20 Veegan Ferrao scored the all-important goal of the match in the 14th minute as the striker leaped high to head in a Nicholas Rodrigues flag-kick. 
Calangute Association tried to equalize but rival custodian Siddhesh Morje blocked a fierce shot by Nigerian striker Felix Odili in the 26th minute.
Post resumption, the team provided end-to-end action. Calangute Association’s desperate attempts went in vain as their strikers failed to convert from the opportunities that came their way.
In the 83rd minute, Tuff Laxmi Prasad SC were down to ten-men as Onyeama received a second booking for misconduct followed by the inevitable red card by referee Seby Moares.
Soon, Tuff Laxmi Prasad SC strengthened their defence by bringing in Girish Naik for Nicholas.
At the other end, Calangute Association did not lose hope. Felix sent in a perfect cross to Pedro Gonsalves but the medio’s header could only hit the crossbar, much to the despair for their supporters.
Moreover, the match was a physical battle with either team committing over eight fouls.
