PANJIM: UC Nadoro scored a convincing 41-run victory over Shantadurga Betim in the Albert Developers Sports Club’s 1st All Goa Season Ball Cricket Tournament match played at Sports Authority of Goa ground, Campal, on Sunday.
Electing to bat first UC Nadora’s Aman Komarpant (60), Sachin Gawas (36) and Sankalp Gawas (25) contributed the most to add to the total of 202 runs for the loss of six wickets in 20 overs.
In reply, Shantadurga Betim could manage to get only 162 runs with the help of Rajshekhar Harikant (70), Amit Kamat (38) and Triroy Kubal (27) before they were bowled out in 16.5 overs.
Man-of-the-Match Sagar Sawant picked 5 wickets to help UC Nadora win.
In another match, Aarvi XI Korgao defeated Albert Developers Lions in a neck-to-neck match by 15 runs.
Electing to bat first, Aarvi XI Korgao scored 189 runs with a loss of two wickets in 20 overs.
Suraj (55), Aniket Desai (64) and Mahesh Jadav (24) were the top scorers for the winning side.
In reply, the hosts could only score a totaly of 174 runs with a loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs with the help of Saif Ali Karajgi (44), Basuraj Madar (30) and Nikhil Divjikar (19) who were among the top scorers for Albert Developers.
However Aarvi XI’s bowlers made a mark holding off Albert Developers through the match with Anush Kerkar, Mahesh Bhaidkar and Aniket Desai picking two wickets each to help Aarvi XI advance in the tournament.
