Milagres had a golden chance to take the lead in the fifth minute but to their frustration, Shailesh Miskin’s powerful effort hit the goal post from close range.
As the match progressed, Milagres had numerous opportunities but all their efforts were foiled by some outstanding goalkeeping by Nerul’s Siddhesh Morje.
Post resumption, in the 37th minute, Sanket Jotkar had an open chance to score for Nerul but he ballooned the ball over the horizontal bar.
Soon, in the 45th minute, Tushar Dhabolkar missed an open chance for Nerul.
In the ensuing tie-breaker, Bapu Pednekar, Rajat Chopdekar, Paul Cardozo and Siddhesh Morje netted for Nerul while Noel Viegas and Leon D’Souza managed to score for Milagres.
