MARGAO: United Club of Nerul prevailed over Sporting Club of Davorlim 4-2 via the tie-breaker to storm into the semi-finals of all-Goa Our Lady of Merces inter-village football tournament organized by Sirlim Sports Club, at church ground, Chinchinim, on Wednesday. The teams were locked in a goalless draw at the end of regulation period.
The second session continued in same vein with the teams struggling to exhibit positional play.
In the ensuing penalty shoot-out, Jenifer Clemente, Thomas D’Souza, Avelino Pereira and Suraj Khauntankar found the mark for Nerul while Melcolm Colaco and Peixoto Gomes converted for Sporting Club of Davorlim.
