NAVELIM: UC Telaulim blanked ICSC Paroda 4-0 in the GFA’s First Division football League match played at Rosary ground, Navelim, on Tuesday.
Savio Fernandes and Clinton Niasso scored a brace each for UC Telaulim in their rout of ICSC Paroda.
UC Telaulim scored an early goal through Savio Fernandes, the striker slotted the ball home in the 2nd minute of the match.
Within eight minutes, Anil Shivolkar sent in a through ball to Savio Fernandes who promptly shot the ball into the nets of ICSC Paroda to double the lead for UC Telaulim.
Trailing by two goals ICSC Paroda through Godfrey Silva tried to narrow the margin however the solo effort by Godfrey was tackled by Mildred Rebello defender of Telaulim in the 20th minute.
ICSC Paroda’s Mariano Rebelo efforts to connect the forward line were blocked by Telaulim defenders, later Liston Fernandes shot tried a long ranger which was easily collected by UC Telaulim keeper Ozen Silva.
Either of the teams missed a lot of scoring chances later in the first session but the strikers faltered at the goal as the players went into the breather with UC Telaulim leading 2-0.
Post resumption, UC Telaulim went on a attacking rampage and tested the rival goalkeeper time and again with Clinton Niasso’s long ranger effort in the 47th minute, the shot however ballooned over the crossbar.
At the other end, Godfrey Silva of Paroda shot from the box of Telaulim but Ozen saved it.
Clinton Niasso was brilliant for the Telaulim team and tirelessly aimed to get the ball at the back of the rival nets and finally managed to further inflated the lead by scoring two quick goals in the 75th and 77th minutes respectively to take the final tally to 4-0.
In another match, at Curtorim ground Salgaocar FC juniors blanked Curtorim Gymkhana 3-0.
Daniel Rebello opened the account for Salgaocar in the 44th minute while
Klins Mendes doubled the lead for Salgaocar in the 50th minute.
Liston Colaco made it 3-0 for Salgaocar in the 87th minute.
