PANJIM: Ulhas Fallary won the second Big Foot Loutolim Rapid Chess tournament, organized by Big Foot Trust, Loutolim in association with Salcete Taluka Chess Association, Loutolim, recently.
Sushant Gavalkar secured the second place and Myren Pacheco claimed the third spot.
In all, 55 students from Loutolim participated in the tournament. Valencia Fernandes, Vedant Bandodkar, Rohit Naik, Floyd Vaz, Sidnoy Fernandes, Glenn Monteiro, Lester Fernandes, Ruben Rodrigues, Doyal Alves, Manisha Fernandes, Warren Fernandes, and Alston Fernandes secured fourth to 15th places respectively.
Age category prizes were awarded to Allan Casta (Best U-11 Boy) and Megan Monteiro (Best U-11 Girl).
Amogh Namshiker was the chief arbiter of the tournament while Jaywant Hamanavar was the tournament coordinator.
Prizes and certificates were awarded by chief guest Damodar Zambaulikar (Secretary, Salcete Taluka Chess Association) in the presence of Damian Monteiro and Maendra Alvares. Earlier, Mitchelle Monteiro welcomed and later proposed the vote of thanks.
