RAIA: The United Club of Verna scored a 3-0 win against Fr Agnelo Youth SC, Paroda, to clinch the President’s Cup in the final played at SAG ground, Assolna, recently.
The goals came in the 48th, 56th, and 65th minutes, solidifying United Club of Verna’s dominance.

The first half witnessed both teams creating opportunities, but the deadlock persisted. The turning point arrived in the 48th minute when Joyston Pinha opened the floodgates with a spectacular goal. Andrew John followed suit with goals in the 56th and 65th minutes, propelling UC Verna to win.
Chief guest Velim MLA Cruz Silva in the presence of special invitees Ivan Fernandes (Sarpanch of Village Panchayat, Assolna), Benjamin D’Silva (former MLA of Velim), Savio D’Silva (South Goa Congress chairperson), Angelo Silva (PE teacher St Anne’s Institute, Agonda), Andrew Ferrao (GFA Executive Member), and Patwin Fizardo (GFA Executive Member) presented the winners and runners-up trophies.
