PANJIM: The Catholic Association of Goa in collaboration with All India Catholic Union, a social service organization, aimed at igniting the spark of Unity, Green India and Good Health, will organise “United Goa Marathon Run for Unity and Peace” on November 14, at SAG ground, Campal-Panjim.
The idea behind this is to enable children, to be exposed to a world of integration and to keep away from drugs. The main races, men’s 24 kms and women’s 14 kms will start at 6.30 a.m, from Campal ground.
In men’s 24 kms, first three winners will be awarded Rs 1,00,000, Rs 50,000 and Rs 35,000 respectively while in women’s 14 kms, Rs 50,000, Rs 35,000 and Rs 25,000 will be awarded to the first, second and third place respectively.
The rest of the categories will be awarded Rs 10,000, Rs 7,500 and Rs 5,000 as first, second and third prize respectively.
Manipal Hospital has joined hands to support the event by providing doctors on site with medical vans and all assistance to attend to any eventuality and will also ply the medical van along the marathon route.
