VARCA: Host Varca SC got the better of Sporting Club of Davorlim via the tie-breaker 5-3 to move into the quarter-finals of village panchayat cup, organised by Varca Sports Club, at Varca football ground on Saturday.
At half time, both the teams were goalless.
In the second half, Selwyn Miranda opened the account for Sporting Club Davorlim through a free-kick giving no chance for Muhmad Shaikh under the bar, soon the equaliser came from Aaron Rodrigues with a neat placement giving no chance to Francisco Colaco .
Both the teams ended 1-1 and the fate of the match was decided by a tie-breaker.
Joylan Cardozo, Aaron Rodrigues, Salim Sadekar and Muhamed scored for Varca Sports Club while Selwyn Miranda and Jordan Miranda found the net for Sporting Club of Davorlim .
Clayton Luis was declared as the man-of-the-match.
