NAGOA: Varca Sports Club got the better of Nuvem Sports Club 1-0 to move into the finals of the Nagoa Panchayat Cup football tournament organised by Rossman Cruz Sports Club, Nagoa, played at village Nagoa panchayat ground, Verna, on Sunday.
In the third minute, Joylon Cardozo took control from Varca’s Tennyson Rosa dribbled past Clyson Pereira and Hayson Velho of Nuvem from the defence line and shot from the inside box but Nuvem keeper Joel Colaco palmed the ball away to safety.
In the next minute, Nuvem through Schubert should have netted the first but a timely tackle by Warren Pereira was enough to deny them a chance.
As the match progressed into the second half, it was Varca’s Quelon Alemao who came with the ball from the defence line dribbled past a couple of Nuvem defenders and shot from the right flank and netted the match winner for Varca with an arrow bond shot in the 50th minute.
