RAIA: Varca Veterans entered the final defeating Bardez Veterans 3-1in the 4th all-Goa Veterans football tournament organised by Batora United at DYSA ground, Curtorim, on Tuesday.
Narayan Mistry opened the scoreline for Varca Veterans in the 10th minute, while Gavin Araujo equalised for Bardez Veterans in 24th minute of the play. In second session, Francisco Fernandes scored in the 36th minute for Varca Veterans to give lead. Bardez Veterans’ Sailesh Misquin failed to convert an opportunity to equalise in 48th minute.
Narayan completed his brace in dying minutes of the game for Varca Veterans. Francisco, popular known as Pele, was awarded the man-of-the-match award by Sailesh Prabu, member of Batora United.
