MAPUSA (HSR) –“I am happy with the way my team is shaping up,” stated Vasco Sports Club coach Gavin Araujo after returning back from Assam on Monday after playing in their second out of station tournament.
“Our goalkeeper, Xavier Estrocio won the best goalkeeper award at the Oil India tournament, which is particularly pleasing.” Xavier was filling in for the absence of Milagrio Maderia who was away doing duty with the Goa National Games team. Captain Prajot Naik, Joy Ferrao and Joel Sequeira were also in the Goa team which won the bronze medal.
Now Gavin has all his players back under one roof and is planning to have a small party to recognise their achievements, but he assures his players will not be resting just yet as they get ready to battle for promotion to the I-League.
