GUIRDOLIM: Vedant, Mayuresh and Shubham won the Guirdolim Club’s 1st Non Ranking Table Tennis Tournament in their respective categories held atGuirdolim Club, at Guirdolim, on Thursday.
The event was organised in collaboration with Goa Table Tennis Association and co-sponsored by Madanant Constructions Pvt Ltd.
In the U-14 category, Vedant Rajgupta scored an easy straight set win over Jovan Antao11-4, 11-6, 11-3.
In the Ur-17 category a determined Mayuresh Dessai put it across Joyel Gomes 13-11, 6-11, 11-8, 11-7.
In the men’s category final, Shubham Dessai defeated local favourite Santosh Verenkar in four sets 11-8, 7-11, 11-8,11-5.
Earlier the Chief Guest Naguesh Verenkar (International Player) and Special Invitee, Jayz Gomes played an exhibition match to entertain the audience.
Trophies and certificates were awarded to the winners and runners up at the hands of the chief guest.
