MARGAO: Velsao Sports and Cultural Club pulled off a stunning upset in the Goa Football Association U-20 Taca Goa Division One following their 1-0 win over much fancied Goan Football Club, at Raia ground, on Monday.
Josley Moniz scored the lone goal of the game in the 61st minute which separated the two sides.
Meanwhile Salgaocar FC eased their way past Churchill Brothers SC with a 2-1, at Dr T B Cunha-SAG ground Cansaulim.
Salgaocar led 2-1 at half-time.
Salgaocar shot into the lead through Josbern Fernandes.
Hardly had the cheers died down, Salgaocar were 2-0 up through a goal by Steflon D’Costa.
Churchill Brothers regrouped and reduced the margin in the 33rd minute through Cyrus Noronha.
The proceedings in the second half were equally shared by both teams.
