PANJIM: Verekers defeated Buddy Stars by a thumping 3-0 score line, in the U-15 team championship event, in the third Invitational Table Tennis Championship organised by Miramar Sports Club, at Indoor Stadium, Campal, on Tuesday.
In the league matches played on the inaugural day, BPS A also had it easy against Buddy Stars winning it 3-0.
The third match of the day was an exciting clash between Verekers and BPS A, with both the sides having the best of Goa’s ranked players playing against one another.
Verekers, led by Nagesh Verekar, who had reached as high as India no 4 rank in the past and Anshuman Agarwal who has been selected by PSPB were at the top of their game to lead their team to a comfortable 3-0 win against a strong BPS A team.
The three Goan teams will compete with four outstation teams in the U-15 team championship event.
