MARGAO: A fine brace by striker Richard Dias helped Verna Sports Club to overcome Curtorim Gymkhana 3-2 and cruise into the quarter-finals of All-Goa 42nd Custodio memorial inter-village football at Manora ground, Raia, Sunday. The teams were tied 2-2 at half time.
Verna broke the deadlock in the 10th minute when striker Richard Dias bulged the net.
Curtorim Gymkhana neutralized through Melwyn Fernandes.
Stunned by the equalizer, Verna scored through Samson Menezes.
Curtorim again restored parity through Melwyn.
