PANJIM: Vithal Pai and Vishwesh Pai from Ponda got FIDE Rapid rating (Elo 1357) and FIDE Rapid rating (Elo 1207), respectively, after their performance at the rapid rating chess tournaments at Ponda and Margao, recently.
Vithal Pai is working in GVM’s Dr Dada Vaidya College of Education and Vishwesh Pai is studying in Almeida High School.
Vishwesh Pai has attended advanced chess coaching camp conducted by Amogh Namshiker in Ponda and is also trained by his father Vithal Pai. As per the October 2013 FIDE rated players list, the number of rated players in Ponda taluka is 22. Ponda Taluka Chess Association congratulated them for their performance.
