PANJIM: Wesley Rosario will take on Mandar Joshi in the final of the Sub-Junior Boy’s singles event at the All-Goa Major Ranking Table Tennis tournament, organised by Rotary Club of Panaji in association with the Sports Authority of Goa, at Indoor Stadium, Campal, here.
The sub-junior and junior girl’s final will be fought between Tanisi Kirtani and Tanya Patil.
In the sub-junior boy’s semi-finals, Mandar Joshi got the better of Varun Gangodkar 3-2 with the score reading 13-11, 7-11, 9-11, 11-4 and 11-8 while Wesley Rosario had a comfortable outing against Vaidik Srivastava, winning 13-11, 11-6 and 11-5.
In the sub-junior girl’s quarter-finals, Sanisha Shetye edged past Arya Divekar 9-11, 11-9, 9-11, 11-9, 11-9 and Tanya Patil grounded Aditi Chodankar 11-8, 11-5, 11-9 in three straight sets.
Sneha Rane went down in the first set but rallied to defeat Prutha Parrikar 12-14, 11-9, 11-8, 11-9 while Tanisi Kirtani gained a walkover.
Tanisi got the better of Sanisha Shetye 11-2, 11-6, 11-3 and Tanya Patil defeated Sneha Rane 16-14, 11-7, 8-11, 11-6 in the sub-junior girl’s semi-finals.
In the junior girl’s semi-finals, Tanisi defeated Prutha Parrikar 11-5, 11-3, 11-7 and Tanya thumped Utkarsha Shivani 19-17, 11-5, 11-4.
