Wesley, Tanisi eye double

Wesley do Rosario is poised for yet another double crown as he entered the finals of  mini-cadets and cadets of 27th Salgaocar all-Goa Major Ranking TT tournament organised by Cortalim Gymkhana at Mangesh Maharudra hall, Cortalim yesterday.
Wesley beat Wandan Sakordekar 11-4, 11-6, 11-6 in the cadets semi-finals and Varun Gangadhar 11-4, 11-8, 11-7 in mini-cadets semi-finals. In the other semi-final, Nikhil Raikar defeated Atharva Nadkarni 11-6, 11-6, 14-12 in mini-cadets while Mangesh Sakordekar beat Abner Cunha 11-7, 11-6, 11-8 in cadets.
Tejas Shivde defeated Yash Naik 10-12, 11-7, 9-11, 11-5, 11-6 and Krishal Peres beat Yash Salgaocar 11-6, 11-4, 11-7 to enter into sub-junior finals.
In the cadets quarter-finals, Sidhant Parekh beat Varun Gangadhar 11-3, 11-7, 11-8. Nandan Sakordekar trounced Nikhil Raikar 11-4, 11-1, 11-2.  Nandan Sakordekar beat Sidhant Parekh 3-11, 10-12, 11-4, 11-8, 11-7 while Abner Cunha defeated Amey Naik 11-6, 11-7, 12-10.
In sub-junior quarters Tejas Shivde defeated Nigel Menezes 11-5, 11-6, 11-7. Yash Naik beat Wesley do Rosario 11-6, 6-11, 11-8, 11-9. Yash Salgaocar defeated Tejas Moraskar 11-7, 12-10, 11-9 while Krishal Peres Da Silva beat Pranav Naik 11-5, 8-11, 11-4, 11-4.
Earlier, in the sub-juniors Amey Naik beat Valencio Fernandes 11-8, 11-4, 11-6. Nigel Menezes defeated Joel Andrade 6-11, 12-10, 7-11, 11-6, 11-6. Richie Pinto beat Amey Shirodkar 11-5, 11-9, 11-9. Shreyas Aigal defeated Adfern Gonsalves 11-1, 11-6, 11-4. Leighan Fernandes beat Afron D’Silva 11-5, 11-3, 11-3. Nigel Menezes defeated Ronaldo Alvares 11-1, 11-2, 11-3. Bhavik Khadapkar beat Richie Pinto 11-8, 11-4, 11-2. Nigel Menezes defeated Mangesh Sakordekar 5-11, 11-9, 11-8, 11-9. Leighan Fernandes beat Shafran Usman 11-5, 11-4, 11-2. Tejas Moraskar beat Leighan Fernandes 11-6, 11-5, 11-4.  Yash Naik beat Shreyas Aigal 12-10, 11-8, 12-10. Bhuvan Khadapkar defeated Tejas Patil 11-7, 11-7, 11-6. Wesley do Rosario beat Amey Naik 11-7, 11-7, 11-6.  Krishal Peres Da Silva defeated Nandan Sakordekar 11-1, 11-6, 11-5. Pranav Naik beat Bhuvan Khadapkar 9-11, 7-11, 11-6, 11-8, 11-8.
In the girls events, Tanisi Kirtani entered the finals of mini-cadets and cadets today. Tanisi beat Prutha Parrikar 11-6, 11-5, 11-4 in cadets semi-finals and R. Vaishali Chandana 8-11, 11-9, 11-6, 11-3 in mini cadets semi-finals. In the other semi-finals Arantxa Noronha beat Abigale Cunha 11-1, 9-11, 11-2, 11-7 in cadets while Abigale Cunha defeated Prutha Parrikar 11-6, 13-11, 11-4 in mini-cadets.
Eleanor do Rosario beat Nisha Mahambre 11-4, 11-2, 11-2 and Devika Sood defeated Kefira Rodriguese 9-11, 11-6, 11-6, 7-11, 11-3 in juniors. In sub-juniors, Kefira Rodriguese beat Laxmi Shetye 13-11, 8-11, 11-8, 14-12 and Roshni Gopani defeated Tanisi Kirtani 11-6, 11-7, 8-11, 11-7.
Earlier, in the junior quarter-finals Eleanor do Rosario trounced Anolee Serrao 11-2, 11-1, 11-6. Devika Sood beat Laxmi Shetye 11-5, 11-5, 11-6. Kefira Rodriguese defeated Anchal Verekar 11-5, 8-11, 7-11, 11-3, 11-8 while Nisha Mahambre beat Tanisi Kirtani 11-8, 13-11, 6-11, 9-11, 11-8.
