MARGAO: Wilred Leisure Sports Club registered a 2-0 win over Guardian Angel Sports Club, Curchorem 2-0 to cruise into the quarter-final of All-Goa Telaulim Village Panchayat Cup football tournament, organized by United Club of Tellaulim, at Telaulim ground, Wednesday. Wilred Leisure led 1-0 at half time.
Wilred Leisure started the game on an attacking note and took the lead in the 10th minute after Neville Fernandes bulged the rival nylons.
Stung by the setback, Guardian Angel made concentrated efforts in search of the equalizer but the rival defense were strong in protecting their slender lead.
Changing over, Wilred Leisure enjoyed the better share of exchanges and Sertorio Monteiro scored the second goal in the 45th minute to troop out worthy winners.
