With less than a month to go, Fatorda Stadium gears up to host its first FIFA U-17 WC match

FATORDA: With just a month to go, preparations are in full swing at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Fatorda as Goa is gearing up to host the FIFA U-17 World Cup matches in October.

FATORDA: With just a month to go, preparations are in full swing at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Fatorda as Goa is gearing up to host the FIFA U-17 World Cup matches in October.
The South Goa district collector Anjali Sehrawat also inspected the venue as the stadium, which is one of the venues to host FIFA U-17 World Cup matches, is brought up to the necessary security levels.
Speaking to some of the sources they disclosed that landscaping work will be completed soon.
Security drills were carried out by the NDRF (National Disaster Rescue Force) in the presence of the town police on Thursday.
The NDRF team carried out drills while the steward trained the volunteers who will be taking care of crowd control.
The Sports Authority of Goa officials were also present and supervised all the activities underway at the stadium, as the venue gears up for the Under-17 World Cup.
Goa host the first match on October 7 which will be played between Germany and Costa Rica while Iran will lock horns with Guinea later in the evening on the same day.
