MAPUSA: Xetrapal SC registered a 6-4 win over Saligao United SC in the GFA’s Third Division Bardez Zone playoff match held at Duler stadium, here, on Thursday.
Xetrapal opened their account in the 8th minute where Sandeep Dhargalkar nodded the ball into the rival goal off a cross by Chandrakant Shirodkar, 1-0.
Five minutes later Xetrapal doubled their lead with Vishank Dhargalkar placing the ball into the far corner of the goal, 2-0.
Xetrapal added two more goals, one through Vivek Agarwadkar and second from a self goal by Florence Kullu. Saligao United tried to get back into the match with Pavan Devsekar and Bhavesh Pereira netting two goals, 4-2.
On resumption of play a delightful cross by Vishank Dhargalkar saw Vivek Agarwadkar control and score the fifth goal for Xetrapal, 5-2.
As the match progressed Saligao United scored two more goals through Bhavesh Pereira and Larry Gomes, while Chandrakant Shirodkar netted the sixth goal for Xetrapal, 6-4.
Xetrapal’s Chandrakant Shirodkar received the man-of-the-match award from the hands of Uday Lingudkar, GFA’s executive committee member.
