MAPUSA: Xetrapal Sports Club registered a fluent 3-1 win over Goa Velha Sports Club to advance ahead in the late Shruti Pednekar Memorial Soccer tournament organised by Sodiem Siolim SCC, at Khorier ground, Sodiem, on Saturday.
Rajesh Pomburphekar put Xetrapal ahead in the 25th minute with a neat placement to give his side the lead. Xetrapal doubled their lead on crossing ends with Kannaya Goverkar heading the ball into the goal off Venu’s cross to double the lead. Goa Velha pulled a back by Lokesh who scored from penalty spot to make it 2-1.
In the closing stage of the match, Rajesh scored his brace to make it 3-1.
