PANJIM: Yahweh Rohi, Yahweh A, United Collem, Moonlight Boys, Golden Boys, Pernem Jaguars and Pernem Pistons register victories in their respective matches in the second week of Vodafone GFDC Rising Stars Football festival, recently.
Yahweh Rohi defeated Yahweh Rophe 4-2, at Parra ground. The U-13 match was closely contested in the first half with each team scoring one goal each. However, in the second half Yahweh Rohi put up an excellent performance which took their side to a 4-2 victory.
Saish Mirajkar and Philip Carvalho scored a brace each while Soham Navroji was the only goal scorer for Yahweh Rophe with two goals. Saish was declared player of the match.
In the second match, Yahweh Elohin and Yahweh Shalom played out a 2-2 draw. In the first half, Elohin side was leading 2-1. Shalom side was quick to equalize in the second half.
Enrique Correa and Issac Monteiro scored a goal each for Yahweh Elohin while Myran Pacheco and Plutos Pacheco scored for Yahweh Shalom. Enrique was adjourned player of the match.
In the U-10 category match, at Parra, Stefan Carvalho took his side Yahweh A to a comfortable 5-0 victory against Yahweh B.
Stefan was the top scorer with a four goal blitz. Stefan scored a hat-trick in the second half of the match to take his side to the victory. Sashi Chaudhari was the other scorer. Stefan was declared player of the match.
At Collem ground, United Collem trounced Blaster Collem 3-0 in the U-13 Boy’s category.
Anish Gadar scored a hat trick and ensured victory for his side. He was rightly adjudged as the player of the match. The second match at Collem between Collem Challengers and Piety Rangers ended in a goalless draw.
At Benaulim ground, Moonlight Boys edged past Iron Boys 1-0.
Player of the match Preston Rebello scored the only goal.
In the U-10 Boy’s, Golden Boys defeated Silver Boys 2-0.
Pernem Jaguars defeated Pernem Unicorns 2-0 in the U-13 Girl’s category.
Esha Chopdekar and Riya Parsekar scored a goal each for Jaguars while Anusha Chopdekar scored for Unicorns. In the U-13 Boy’s category, Pernem Pistons grounded Pernem Panthers 4-1.
Swayam Singh’s two strikes were well supported by a goal each from Yash Salgaonkar and Yash Kinlekar.
At Utorda ground, Sherwyn Rodrigues in an outstanding performance scored four goals for Young Strikers to lead his side to a 7-0 victory against Challengers, at Alila de Goa GFDC Utorda centre.
Young Strikers outperformed Challengers in both the sessions.
Challengers were not able to cope up with the pressure since the first goal came in the fifth minute of the match. Cleren Fernandes, Dylan Shirodkar and Tahir Sheikh scored one goal each for Young Strikers.
Azim Khan of the Challengers was adjourned player of the match as for his brave defending.
In another U-13 match at Utorda, Active Boys defeated Sharp Shooters 2-0. Crysler Afonso scored both the goals, one in each session.
Sharp Shooters missed couple of opportunities and were not lucky enough to score a goal. Sharp Shooters forward Anlon Fernandes was adjourned player of the match.
Other results are as follows. U-13 Boy’s: Aldona Green beat Aldona Yellow 6-0. Ronan Dias (3), Vinit Salgaonkar, Rahul Parab and Mackenzie Fernandes scored a goal each. Player of the match was Ronan.
Aldona Red beat Aldona Yellow 6-0; Tarak Khandolkar and Narendra Naik scored two goals each while Aryan Parwar and Clayton Alvares netted a goal each. Player of the match was Tarak Khandolkar.
At Paroda, Paroda United beat Paroda FC 4-0. Frenzel Fernandes scored a hat-trick and Alfred Oliveira scored a goal. Player of the match was Frenzel Fernandes.
Paroda Boys beat Paroda XI 5-1. Arnold Oliveira and Dylan Oliveira netted a brace each while Ryan also scored a goal. Scorer for Paroda XI was Nasir. Player of the match award went to Arnold Oliveira.
