PANJIM: Yash Kunkalienkar, Sushil Nayak, Yasmin Sayed and Anjana Kumari emerged champions at the State Badminton championships, organised by Mapusa Shuttlers, in collaboration with Goa Badminton Association and SAG, in their respective categories, at Indoor stadium, Campal, on Saturday.
While Yash defeated Sushil Nayak 21-17, 21-14 in straight sets, Anjana had to battled it out against Manjushri Raut in a three-setter before clinching a 21-14, 19-21, 21-17 win.
In the U-15 boys final, Sushil Nayak eased past Rudra Dukle 21-4, 21-7, while Yasmin Sayed defeated Lydia Barreto 21-14, 19-21, 21-13 to clinch the crown
In U-13 girls singles final, Arshia Gautam defeated Siya Kakodkar 21-17, 21-12. Rudra Dukle won the boys final beating Aashutosh Dhavalikar 21-10, 21-13. Semi-final prizes were awarded to Parth Kantak and Curt Coutinho (U17 Boys), Yasmin Sayed and Lydia Barreto(U17 Girls), Tejas Tendulkar and Arjun Fallary(U15 Boys), Aahana Nayak and Rhea Mallya(U15 Girls), Rajat Salunke and Yash Halarnkar(U13 Boys) and Manpreet Kaur and Rhucha Bhobe(U13 Girls).
