HERALD: What’s the difference you feel about the competitions at local, national and international to bag a medal?
yash PADLOSKAR: There is no much competition at the State level, so it becomes very easy to achieve the target. At National, it is very tough as there are thousands of competitors, but in one way you feel proud for representing the State. If you come in merit at National, then there are chances that this merit will be maintained for qualification at the International level. On the other hand, international competitions have very less competitors but they are the best of their country and it’s a great opportunity to represent my country which I am proud of. At international, you are not only competing with the world’s best but also get an opportunity to become one of the best.
HERALD: What is your plan for next five years?
yash: My plan is to prepare myself 100 per cent to give my best so I could make up to 2018 Youth Olympics. My dream project is 2020 Olympics, which will be held at Tokyo.
HERALD: Advice to youth to join sports or shooting.
yash:Not only shooting but any sports is good to keep yourself healthy. In sports you can increase and strengthen your mental and physical abilities. Shooting is great sport to join as it depends completely on yourself and not others. It also helps to stay focus and concentrate, which provide an added advantage in one’s educational life. As for my Boards I secured 84 per cent in spite of doing my shooting at the whole academic year.
HERALD: Type of scope in shooting?
yash:In Goa, some people think there is no scope. But as per my observation, the sport can also be made as your professional career. We have many examples of sportspersons who have settled in their life and also brought glory to the country.
HERALD: Why you chose shooting?
yash:For the fact, I never chose but somehow my destiny chose me to be a shooter. On other hand, when I started shooting for the first time I didn’t even think that I would pursue my career in sports.
HERALD: Who introduced you to shooting?
yash:My father Yogesh Padloskar and our family friend and Indian shooting coach Adv. M.S Bhangle.
HERALD: Who is the best shooter according to you?
yash:Best shooter is one who can handle immense pressure with being focused and calm on his target and also maintaining a perfect coordination with the body and mind.
HERALD: Your plan for 2020 Olympics?
yash:I am working very hard, on both mental and physical abilities. With this, you need minimum six hours of practice daily.
