YSC Colvale drub ABC Arambol to secure third place; OL Gloria SC, UB Ambaulim win

MAPUSA: YSC Colvale registered a comfortable 3-1 win over ABC Arambol to secure third place in the GFA’S 3rd Division playoff match, at Duler stadium, here, on Tuesday.
YSC Colvale who had an upper hand over their opponents led 2-0 at the end of first half.
Sattyam drew the first blood for YSC Colvale in the third minute with a volley following a pass by Sattan Shaikh which had no answer by the Arambol keeper.
It did not take long for Colvale to consolidate their lead as they were helped by some poor goalkeeping by Arambol keeper who made a mess off a long ball floated into the box by Derrick and Siddhant who was well positioned slammed the ball into the net to make it 2-0.  
Colvale received a jolt in the 16th minute when they were reduced to ten men after their keeper Priyesh was sent-off as he advanced out of his 18-yard box to gather a ball from Dietmar which was not going to cause much damage.
Nikhil scuffed up a golden chance of making it 3-0 minutes before half time for Colvale as he could not shoot goal wards from close range after being released by Siddhant with a clever pass
Crossing ends, the ball was mostly confined to the midfield as Arambol could not encash on the one-man advantage.
Colvale’s third goal was a solo effort from Sattan Shaikh who finished clinically to make it 3-0.
Arambol managed to pull a goal back through Dietmar Fernandes in added time but it was too late as it did not change the consequences of the match.
Rio Fernandes received the man-of-the-match award from GFA’s executive members Babli Mandrekar and Adv. Dominic Pereira.
Meanwhile at Ambelim ground, Our Lady of Gloria SC eased past United Sports Club Seraulim 3-0.
Our Lady of Gloria SC were lucky and were gifted two goals as Seraulim netted two own goals. 
Sam D’Souza and Adriel D’Souza scored own goals for Seraulim which put Gloria up by two goals and Velencio Fernandes scored the third for the winning side.
At Dramapur ground, United Boys of Ambaulim made light work of Carmona Sports Club 5-0.
Assis Dias scored a brace while Kevin Fernandes, Alex Fernandes and Dailon Carvalho netted a goal each for Ambaulim.
